My review on the Manheim version itself:
I agree that every translator seems to have been a hater and biased, but Murphy, Ford and Dalton are much much MUCH worse! They use wrong wording that confuses and obscures the text to rediculous amounts. You will read those versions without ever truly reading or comprehending the book because with cumbersome strange and wrong wording understanding becomes impossible. For example: " Ten million people cannot permanently hold together a State of fifty millions, composed of different and convicting nationalities" Convicting is a strange choice "Conflicting" would have been clearer but they dont want to be clear. Some up here purporting to be Manheim are actually Murphy and you can see James Murphy in the preface. This was translated during the era, which makes it less contrived than modern ones. Propaganda makes him concocted to be more "evil" with time, more a characture.
In Chapter 2 "child trafficking" (Madchenhandel) is still translated to "white slave trade" for some reason. Possibly translator didnt want to say such a harsh thing?
ChatGPT or Gemini won't translate this good either those Orwellian answer systems will give biased summaries and notes full of lies. Short of learning German, this is the best translation that exists bar none!! I look forward to a more accurate and respectful translation one day but this is solid and comprehendable.
